Virtual Programming During COVID-19

Cyber Clubhouse

COVID-19 is having a major impact on the world around us but Boys & Girls Clubs of Hernando County is determined to do whatever it takes to ensure youth and families have what they need through these uncertain times through our Cyber Clubhouse and Virtual Programming.

Cyber Clubhouse

Each weekday our Cyber Clubhouse features daily videos that focus on academic success, health & wellness, arts & crafts, and a preschool-age section for kids to watch at their own pace and with their families.

Virtual field trips, joke of the day, and even how to learn to play an instrument are spotlighted weekly.

Virtual Mentoring

For youth who attend Westside, Eastside, Brooksville and Moton Elementary Schools.

Virtual Mentoring is a live group interaction that connects youth with caring mentors, skill-building prevention programs, and FUN activities twice a week.

Please contact Krystal Perry at kperry@bgchernando.org for enrollment details and questions.

Virtual Mentoring for Middle School/High Schools

For youth attending middle school and high school in Hernando County.

The youth will receive a live group interaction weekly with staff. The focus of sessions range from homework help, cyberbullying, and discussions on how to cope with the effects of school closures.

Please contact Leticia Gosline at lgosline@bgchernando.org for enrollment and questions

Virtual Homework Help & SMART Programs

For all school-aged youth in Hernando County.

It’s challenging to keep kids focused on homework during this school closure, but that’s ok because Boys & Girls Clubs of Hernando County is here to help. Twice a week staff provides youth with the support, resources, and guidance to complete their homework and develop a deeper understanding of the material using our live Zoom platform

Youth will also receive our popular SMART program that engages youth in FUN activities that promote healthy choices in a live group session and by video sent to parents/guardians to try at home.

Please contact Leticia Gosline at lgosline@bgchernando.org for enrollment and questions.

Virtual Resource Library

For all youth in grades 5th-12th in Hernando County.

Staff will connect parents/guardians to resources including videos and other on-line educational links specifically tailored to meet the need of your child. Resources are sent via parent/guardian email and could include bullying prevention, health, fitness, self-esteem enhancement, and substance abuse prevention. No live virtual interaction is necessary.

Please contact Leanne McKnight at lmcknight@bgchernando.org for enrollment and questions
